The town seems to function much like a cult, with its inhabitants believing that the apocalypse is coming soon. The game has a very similar atmosphere to that of Resident Evil 7, with its blending of rural farming imagery with unimaginable horrors. Instead of a flashlight as in other survival horror games, Langermann is equipped with a camcorder that has night vision enabled, whose battery is drained and must be replaced with batteries hidden throughout the environment.
